Warren Petersen has owned and operated a real estate firm in Mesa, Arizona, since 2000. In 2013, he expanded his professional activities by joining the Arizona State Legislature as a legislator. Warren Petersen advanced to the position of Senate president in 2023.
During his time as a state legislator, Warren Petersen has supported several laws to protect the state of Arizona from terrorism. He has contributed to the elimination of pensions for politicians and the tenant-paid rental tax, among other legislative achievements. He also played a driving role in the state’s transition to Florida-style elections, which provide constituents with night-of-election results.
Mr. Petersen holds a juris doctor from Arizona State University. He studied political science as an undergraduate. He is an active member of the National Association of Realtors, and his other affiliations include the Boy Scouts of America and the Arizona Republican Party (the latter of which he serves as a member of the precinct committee). His personal interests include hiking, reading, and playing sports.
